MPPSC Assistant Director Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy all educational, experience, age and category conditions by the applicable cut-off date. Admission to any selection stage will remain provisional until MPPSC verifies eligibility.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess all the following qualifications:
- A graduate degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- Successful completion of accounts training conducted by the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts or passage of the Subordinate Accounts Service, Part I examination.
- Five years of experience in accounting and auditing work.
The five-year experience certificate must be issued by the head of the concerned department or by an officer of equivalent level who is competent to certify the service. The prescribed qualification and experience must be acquired by 16 August 2026. Candidates whose mark sheets mention only grades or grade points must submit a certificate from the concerned university explaining the method used to convert the grade into percentage marks.
Experience Requirement
Five years of practical experience in accounting and auditing is mandatory. The experience certificate should contain:
- Candidate’s name
- Employment period
- Post held
- Pay or remuneration
- Nature of accounting and auditing duties
- Total practical experience
- Issuing authority’s name, designation, signature and official seal

Age Relaxation
A relaxation of up to five years in the upper age limit is available to eligible Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates belonging to categories specified in Appendix 1, including:
- Scheduled Caste
- Scheduled Tribe
- Other Backward Class
- Eligible candidates with disabilities
- Eligible women candidates
- Government, corporation, board or autonomous institution employees
- Municipal soldiers
- Eligible ex-servicemen
Special relaxation is also available in specified cases such as eligible inter-caste marriage awardees and Vikram Award recipients. The total age after applying all available relaxations cannot exceed 45 years. Candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh will not receive Madhya Pradesh reservation or age-relaxation benefits and will be considered under the unreserved category.
Nationality and Domicile
Indian citizens and other categories recognized under the applicable constitutional provisions may apply.
Madhya Pradesh domicile is required for state reservation and the related concessions. Candidates from other states can apply for the unreserved vacancy but will not receive Madhya Pradesh reservation benefits. The Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class reserved vacancies are available only to eligible original residents of Madhya Pradesh.

Correction Fee
Candidates can correct permitted details from 25 July 2026 to 18 August 2026 by paying ₹50 for each correction session.

Late Document Submission Fee
Candidates who fail to send their application and documents by 25 August 2026 may use the following late-submission arrangement:

Applicants who do not submit the documents by 3 September 2026 may be given a final opportunity after MPPSC publishes a candidature-cancellation notice. Such candidates may have to pay ₹25,000 and submit the documents within ten working days from the notice date. Payment of a late fee does not guarantee acceptance if the candidate is otherwise ineligible. The late fee is non-refundable if candidature is rejected. The application fee may be refunded only if the recruitment advertisement is cancelled, as stated in the notification.
Selection Process
Selection will be conducted through one of the following methods, depending on the number of applications received.
When Applications Are 500 or Fewer
Selection may be conducted through an interview. Applications will first be examined for eligibility. Candidates will then be shortlisted in order of merit based on their qualifying examination marks. For three advertised posts, MPPSC may call up to 24 candidates for the interview under the notified shortlisting table. The interview will carry 100 marks.

The final selection will be based on interview marks when only an interview is conducted.
When Applications Exceed 500
MPPSC may conduct a written examination. Candidates equal to three times the advertised vacancies, including candidates obtaining equal marks at the cut-off, may be called for the interview based on written examination marks. Final selection will be based on the combined marks obtained in the written examination and interview. No separate minimum interview qualifying marks will apply when selection includes both a written examination and interview. The written examination scheme and syllabus will be published separately on the MPPSC website if the Commission decides to conduct an examination.
Document Verification
Eligibility and original documents will be verified during the selection process. The candidature may be cancelled if:
- The required qualification is incomplete
- The five-year experience condition is not satisfied
- Information in the application is false or incomplete
- Category or domicile documents are invalid
- The candidate submits more than one application contrary to the instructions
- Documents do not match the details entered online

Certificate Validity
Caste Certificate
The caste certificate must be issued by a competent revenue authority authorised by the Madhya Pradesh government. Candidates must produce the permanent caste certificate during the interview.
A caste certificate issued by another state will not provide Madhya Pradesh reservation benefits.
OBC Certificate
OBC candidates must establish that they do not fall within the Creamy Layer. The prescribed declaration must also be submitted with the application documents.
Disability Certificate
A candidate claiming disability reservation or related relaxation must submit the latest valid permanent disability certificate issued by the prescribed district medical board or through the UDID system, as applicable.A disability level of at least 40% is required to claim the applicable benefits.
Domicile Certificate
Madhya Pradesh domicile must be supported by a certificate issued by the competent authority. State reservation and related relaxations are available only to eligible original residents of Madhya Pradesh.
Employment Registration
